Quoted over $12k on a vehicle that blue books for about half of this. They could have just told me they don’t want to work on it.
Thanks for the feedback, S S. Unfortunately, we do not recognize your name, but this is a great opportunity to address your concern. On older vehicles it is hard to justify costs of repairs vs the blue book value of the trailer or motorhome. We do try to have a conversation with customers about what the value of the unit is to them. Do they love the floor plan and model?, is it sentimental to them?, or is it something that is just getting them by? Recently we have had customers come in with new-to-them RVs that had major issues that we found (such as damaged siding or a leaky roof). Certain repairs cost that much just because of what all goes into the repair. We try to give a fair estimate for the scope of work we find, and have conversations with the customers about major repairs and what they can expect. We hope this helps explain why the repair quotes are higher than expected.
