Quite a few of those places lie on the West Coast, and if you haven’t been there or considered it, you are missing out. Whether it’s Cape Flattery, the Northwestern most point of the contiguous United States, or by the sunny beaches of Southern California, there is a spot that is just waiting for you to experience.
1.Hobuck campground, Cape Flattery, WA
The most Northwestern point of the contiguous United States provides gorgeous views whether the day is stormy or clear and breezy. This gorgeous part of the country is managed by the Makah Tribe. The Hobuck Campground is the place to be with your RV or trailer, and you’ll find there is a lot to do during your stay. A fairly accessible hike provides you the opportunity to venture to that precious point to overlook the Pacific Ocean, a check off the bucket list. This is a wonderful place to bring the family to see wildlife, enjoy the outdoors and PNW beaches, and you can even bring your dog, if they’re on a leash of course.
2. Camp Sherman, Deschutes National Forest
Located 17 miles North of Sisters, OR, Camp Sherman sits along the shores of the Metolius River, a premier fly-fishing destination of the PNW. Surrounded by a subalpine forest and a landscape of volcanic activity from Black Butte. The area is filled with stunning biodiversity that simply cannot be missed! The area has recreational activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and boating. Camp Sherman is another West Coast destination you cannot pass up.
3. Redwood National Park
Home to the tallest trees on earth, missing out on a visit is simply not an option. The area has a little something for everyone including prairies lands, the iconic forests, waterways, and gorgeous Pacific coastline. Camping is the only way to stay in these areas and there are several places for you to go with your RV or trailer. Whether you’re interested in the various hikes in the area, trekking down to the coast to watch for gray whales, look for elk, or just relax in the presence of the Red Giants, there is something for you in this park.
4. Doheny State Beach, Dana Point, CA
Boasting 62-acres of some of the best beaches Southern California has to offer, Doheny State Beach is the place to be for your classic Californian RV get away. The sandy beaches bring families, beachcombers, sunbathers, skim boarders, and surfers out to enjoy what the area has to offer. There is no shortage of things to do on and off the beach, being very close to DisneyLand and other SoCal amusement parks. Other fun activities on the beach include rentals for kayaks, paddleboards, and sailboats. Simply a must go for a warm beach you just can’t say no to.
