Spring is a time we all look forward to fun and adventure. A road trip in your RV is just what the family needs! Here is a list of amazing experiences awaiting you on your spring break journey:
Olympic National Park
As one of the most popular national parks in the USA, Olympic National Park is a hot spot for outdoor lovers, and for a good reason. There are glaciers in the mountains, a coastline that is lush and rugged with a temperate rainforest. The sights are incredible.
Whale Watching on the Oregon Coast
Just a little south of us is a fantastic sight in spring. Pods of grey whales are on their migration trek north up to Alaska. Plan your late March trip to the Oregon coast and be prepared to hang onto your bootstraps, because the sights of these majestic creatures are sure to blow you away!
Washington State Parks for free in March?
Yes! Washington State Parks offers two free days in their parks between March 19 – 26th. Be prepared; however, you will still have to fork out the funds for camping fees, but the $10 day-use fee is waived.
San Juan Islands
Take a trip to Orcas and tour Mount Constitution to catch a panoramic view of the majestic San Juan Islands. Perhaps you will even see a pod of Orcas making their way through the sound. On the island of San Juan, Friday Harbor is a neat town to island-hop over to just off the ferry. There are many restaurants and shops to explore. Come on a Saturday morning and experience their local Farmers Market, it is fantastic! Plan to walk on, it is free. There is no need to take your vehicle over unless you wish to tour the rest of the island. If you do take your car, the parks are fantastic, with lighthouses, historical camps from the pig war days, and many more.
Sports fans unite!
Spokane is a great place to adventure over to during spring break with March Madness in full swing. Come into town and experience all the hype and excitement of the NCAA tournament.
Eugene and Corvallis are both excellent choices for cities to visit while everyone is out of town for the NCAA tournament, and the college students are away on break. Both of these towns are scenic; this is an ideal time to go and explore them.
Columbia River Gorge
With the rivers swollen with rain, spring break is an ideal time to see the incredible waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. There are scenic vistas everywhere you look and plenty of places to pull off and explore the natural beauty of the forests and cliffs.
